Building and Rebuilding: Unique Blogs on Industrial and Manufacturing Pursuits

Hi. Thank you for reading my blog. I have always loved working with my hands, and my favourite book is "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". This book explains the importance of fixing things correctly, regardless of how long it takes. It talks about building and rebuilding, and it links the act of fixing a motorcycle to the art of living. I believe it's important to take that concept into every aspect of life including manufacturing. I have been around the manufacturing industry for years, and I've seen what works and what doesn't. In this blog, I hope to provide unique perspectives on industrial and manufacturing pursuits. I hope that my ideas lead you and your business to creating better products, seamless processes and happier, healthier employees. My name is John, and thank you for reading!

How to Add Style to Your Home With Stainless Steel Accessories

Stainless steel is a great choice for adding a touch of modern style to any home; stainless steel accessories can break up the look of wood furniture and dark surfaces and be used to reflect light and brighten a space. It's also easy to clean and very strong and durable. While stainless steel appliances are a popular option for many homes today, they are not the only way to add style to your home with this material. Consider a few tips for adding stainless steel pieces to your home.

1. Furniture

If you find that most of your home's furniture is heavy wood or fabric, you can lighten spaces by using stainless steel pieces. Consider steel bar stools for the kitchen or breakfast nook area, or tables with stainless steel legs and glass tops. You can even find side chairs made of stainless steel that might work well in your living room next to all that heavy furniture, to break up the look. If you find the steel itself seems a bit stark, add a toss pillow over the chair to help coordinate all your pieces.

2. Surfaces

A stainless steel countertop for the kitchen can be a good choice because it's so durable and resistant to food stains, bacteria, and the like. This surface will also reflect light and make a small space seem brighter and larger. You may also get the look of a professional, commercial kitchen with a stainless steel countertop. A kitchen splashback might also be made of stainless steel so that it can provide a good contrast for a wood, tile, or glass countertop and wood floors.

3. Decorations

Dark art pieces behind dark, heavy furniture can make any space seem dull and drab. Look for artwork made from cut and fabricated steel, or choose steel frames for mirrors. Steel shelving can also work in any room of the home for a bright and attractive storage option.

4. Staircases

Stainless steel handrails are often preferred in commercial settings because they don't hold bacteria and they clean up very well. You can have a stainless steel handrail installed in your own home to help reflect light and brighten up a dark stairwell. Stainless steel can also be used as steps or as balusters for the stairs; this makes for easy cleanup of the staircase and also creates a bright space that provides a good contrast to dark wood tones of your flooring or furniture.
